“I’m Mad As Hell and…

Want to know why? Here’s an excerpt from my article “I’m Mad As Hell and I’m Not Going To Take It Anymore!”. Click here to read the whole article.
“Congress has recently passed and the President has signed a new energy bill which continues the costly boondoggle for ethanol while excluding the single most promising system for delivering the United States from its dependence on foreign oil. For nearly his entire Presidency, President Bush has trumpeted his reliance on ethanol and “technological innovation’ to deliver America from its vulnerability to the uncertainties and downright hostilities of nations supplying us with oil. Hogwash! For lack of support such as the tax credits given to ethanol, a far superior system which could, more quickly, more efficiently, and less expensively, manufacture enough oil each year to virtually eliminate our reliance on foreign oil, dies on the vine from neglect and downright favoritism for ethanol.”
This is something everyone should be informed of.
I’m Mad As Hell and I’m Not Going To Take It Anymore.
Congress has recently passed and the President has signed a new energy bill which continues the costly boondoggle for ethanol while excluding the single most promising system for delivering the United States from its dependence on foreign oil. For nearly his entire Presidency, President Bush has trumpeted his reliance on ethanol and “technological innovation’ to deliver America from its vulnerability to the uncertainties and downright hostilities of nations supplying us with oil. Hogwash! For lack of support such as the tax credits given to ethanol, a far superior system which could, more quickly, more efficiently, and less expensively, manufacture enough oil each year to virtually eliminate our reliance on foreign oil, dies on the vine from neglect and downright favoritism for ethanol.
Why ethanol? Because ethanol is derived from corn which is grown primarily in the middle west, and the so-called farm votes, of both the population and their representatives in Congress, is critical to election success. Without the necessary support of this region, ethanol could never survive, for it costs almost a third more to produce a gallon of ethanol than the energy it contains. Is it good for the consumer? Well, no! But it is great for Archer Daniels Midland (ADM) and Cargill, the large agribusinesses and for the farmers who plant corn from fence row to fence row because , not only do they benefit from the tax credits. but the price of corn has jumped from a dollar plus per bushel to approximately five dollars per bushel in the last two years! ** (See; a Cato Institute policy Analysis entitled; “Archer Daniels Midland; A Case Study In Corporate Welfare.”) (This is a must read to learn how the mess we’re in came about.)
Who pays for all of this largesse? You, and you, and you, and I; we all pay for it and without complaining because, by and large, we don’t know about it.
Is there a solution to this enormous problem? Yes, the solution is quite simple but not easy. Please bear with me. I am about to reveal the best kept open secret in America.
We have here in the United States a patented system which can manufacture oil from all non-nuclear material containing carbon, which is anything which has ever lived, both animal and vegetable, and transmute it into an oil superior to that extracted from the earth, and perform this miracle in two short hours! This oil contains neither bitumens (tar) nor sulfur, and may immediately be used as diesel fuel without further processing. The system is exceptionally efficient, operating in the neighborhood of 85%, and everything emanating from the system is completely benign to the environment. In fact it consumes all manner of waste products even to the point of making oil from the sewage in Philadelphia.
Each and every year the sun shines on the earth and transfers its energy to all growing things. We humans plant and grow vegetation to feed both ourselves and the animals we husband and subsequently consume. The result is an enormous quantity of waste, both animal and vegetable which becomes increasingly difficult to dispose of, but which is potentially a never ending source for the production of oil.
You may well ask why you have never heard of this wondrous invention. ADM, the power behind the farm bloc, together with the farmers and the congressional representatives, fear that this system, called thermal conversion process (TCP) which is far superior in all respects to ethanol, would undermine the billions of dollars spent on the ethanol boondoggle. At one point the Energy Department had allocated grants to Changing World Technologies, Inc. (CWT) the patent holder of this system, for the construction of facilities in Colorado, Alabama, and Colorado, and plans were already underway for their construction when the grants were suddenly withdrawn. It takes no great imagination to conclude that the corn belt lobby, especially ADM, recognized and feared the superiority of the TCP system, and made sure that it gained no foothold.
As one who has diligently read any mention of energy information emanating from Washington for the past four years, I can assure you that not once since those grants were withdrawn, has there been even a hint that the TCP system existed. Meanwhile, the government supports ethanol to the tune of billions of dollars per year, a system which could never exist without subsidies from the seed to the production facilities. And who pays for it? We, the taxpayers!
A study conducted by The Cato Institute, referred to above, revealed that “at least 43% of ADM’s profits are from products heavily subsidized or protected by the American government.” Further along it states “Moreover, every $1 of profits earned by ADM’s corn sweetener operation costs consumers $10, and every $1 of profits earned by its ethanol operation costs taxpayers $30.” Did I mention that we taxpayers pay for this? (Emphasis added)
As of 1/31/’08, the current price of oil is over $ 92 per barrel, having recently risen to over $100 per barrel before falling back Many experts predict it will rise again to $100 or more per barrel in the near future. With prices at that level, a rare opportunity exists for the introduction of the TCP system into our economy. The benefits arising from the incorporation of this system into our economy are so beneficial and far reaching as to make any comparison with ethanol, ludicrous.
In so far as other alternative energy systems are concerned, solar, wind power, nuclear power, etc., they all help to generate electricity, but not one of them can equal the manifold uses society has found for oil. Our economy is literally lubricated by oil. Check the following list and search for even one item that can be made from an alternative energy source. Examine the accompanying picture of the typical households infinite number of products we use on a daily basis made from oil.
** Per Wall Street Journal Agricultural Futures – 1/31/’08
The choice before us is not what kind of America will we have in the next four years, but what kind of America will we have in the next forty?
IMAGINE, if you will for a moment, the U. S. no longer dependent upon foreign oil!
IMAGINE - The U. S. manufacturing its own oil from its waste, while at the same time cleaning up the environment.
IMAGINE - An economy where oil prices remain stable because they no longer depend on unstable, unfriendly governments.
IMAGINE - Gasoline prices bring less expensive and more stable.
IMAGINE - A world where each country could produce its own oil from its own waste, and OPEC losing control of the oil market, and our petro dollars no longer support terrorists.
IMAGINE - A world in which our trade deficit is reduced by hundreds of billions of dollars each year, and that money is used to reduce our deficit and taxes.
IMAGINE - A health care system where every American receives the medicine he or she needs, and where no senior is forced to stay up late at night deciding to whether to buy food or fill a prescription.
IMAGINE - A world where we give all children a first class education.
IMAGINE - A debt free economy strong enough that every American can share in the American dream.
Well America, it’s time to stop imagining.! Now, I call on all of any reform minded individuals and friends to join a crusade, to make this bold imagination a reality.
Those who will not be denied, cannot be denied!

Addendum
In a recent campaign speech, Senator John McCain stated that last year it cost the United States 400 billion dollars to import oil. In the study conducted for the first Discover Magazine article in 2003, Changing World Technologies (CWT) stated that using agricultural waste alone, conservatively, the thermal conversion process (TCP) could produce over 4 billion barrels of oil per year. Using that figure, and the current price of approximately $100 per barrel, simple arithmetic produces the 400 billion dollars that McCain used in his speech. That is the amount the United States could keep here in our country each and every year, reducing taxes, and using it to benefit the citizens of our country. Is it any wonder that the corn lobby and ADM feel threatened by this system, and is it any wonder that they have effectively kept the public from learning about this revolutionary system?
What can you do to help? Broadcast this message to all your friends, and they to their friends. Let’s make Washington know that, “We’re mad as hell, and we aren’t going to take it anymore.” -JWH

This is incredible.
Is anyone doing this over here in the UK yet?
The process reminds me of the car in the film “Back to The Future” which ran on garbage waste.
Perfect solution.
